I recorded this sound at the steam-locomotives preservation park in kyoto, japan. Roar of steam whistle was much louder than i had imagined, so it was necessary to set the gain level of mic-preamp carefully. Using at825 and fr-2.

This is the sound of my alarm clock beeping. In my opinion, it's one of the worst alarm clock sounds in the world, with a horrible, grating alarm sound. Sorry about the part where i yell at my crew, and the dialogue about the shower curtain. Also when i say "yeah, bitches. " it had been a long day on set.

A set of 3 high-pitched bird calls echoing across an empty graveyard. Scary sounds is a set of spine-chilling noises and creepy creatures. All the sorts of sounds you might hear in and around a haunted house. Created using an acoustic guitar and a variety of delay effects. All sounds are public domain and do not require credit, but i'd love to hear about how you use them!.

A couple of poker chips clinking together. The sound is from clay/ceramic poker chips, not the cheap plastic ones. Part of a set of various numbers of poker chips clinking together. I used these as clinky sounds in a amateur video game.

Audacity_temp cleanup detritus. Tiny clips from random sources, some of the mp3's are incorrectly tagged as being from the gorillaz album "demon days", but that is completely unrelated, so they're safe, mods.

Using an analog "buttset" or test-set telephone, clipping the leads from an exfomaxtester device and hearing the tones from testing a line, at a terminal/crossbox location (roadside). Cut some low frequencies and added 2s, 5s, then 3s digital-delay effects automated and a reverb effect.

Sorry for the white noise, they were too far and i just have only this budget recorder! :). Recorded in el hierro (canary islands), twilight. This is a very classic sound there in the coast when the sun falls in summer. Recorded with a zoom h4n, with its internal mic (set at 120º).

An odd sound: i set pocket recorder out hoping to capture some birdsong; a raven swooped down and made a couple of passes above it. Perhaps he was attracted by the colorful fuzzy windscreen? at any rate: recorded on an olympus ls-14, some wind in the trees in the background.

A "swoosh" effect given a fair bit of delay, set at a slower rate than the other version of this effect. Attempt at making something that sounds like it's from "astroboy" or something.

A set of rhythms created using kitchen implements. They are all unprocessed, and some are more regular than other. I made these as the raw material for a video soundtrack and thought other people might find them useful too.

This is the first of two excerpts from a field recording of wind chimes hanging from the front porch of my home in south central tennesee. A zoom h1n recorder was placed below the wind chimes and set to record in wav format. The high-pass filter in audacity was used to reduce wind noise. The recording was made in march of 2021.

A very typical recording of late summer as the insects wake up. This recording was done in the backyard in a small town around 5:00 in the morning. Just a wonderful example of the very rhythmic, ebb and flow that these choruses of summer make. I used my zoom h4n recorder with its internal built-in microphones with the volume set on 78. .

This is a low quality recording from a panasonic dvx camcorder microphone. This is a recording of random drum beats. Because of the low quality recording, i have not separated any of the beats, and have faded one into the other. The drum shells are spaun, and the cymbals are a mixture of zildjian and paiste.

A tuned chau gong from my personal collection. I made these samples long ago and only did one take per gong. So, these sounds are a bit rough, but that should do well to suit the kinds of music that would use these gongs. I have tried loading single samples from this set (especially #4) across an entire keyboard, and playing that one sample as if it were the whole set, and that has worked out well. So, if one of the gongs crashes too much or decays too quickly for your liking, it should be trivial to replace that sound with another, pitch-shifted one.

New zealand native bellbird (korimako). Recorded on kapiti island, a bird sanctuary on the west coast of the north island, nz. Recording was made at some feeder stations set up for the native stitchbird (hihi) but it seems that the bellbird was the predominant species on the day. This is in a light forest setting with a large number of birds moving around calling.

Grade school recess, outdoors. Mostly 4th and 5th graders, some playing basketball. Occasional vocals from the pe teacher. Light vehicular and air traffic. Mostly kids playing. Useful as ambience. Recorded 44. 1, 16 bit, on an h6 with the crossed stereo mics set at 90 degrees.

I set out to record new year's eve fireworks, but didn't anticipate the dog going so crazy. It's not a great recording, because of the dog and its owner yelling, but it has moments. Recorded with: audio technica bp4025, sound devices 702t.

While i was recording the atmosphere of a park in tokyo, a helicopter suddenly passed over me. It didn't seem to be an attack chopper. Relieved. Somebody walked by in this very moment. At835st set to wide stereo mode and korg mr-1.

A rainy day in south east georgia - usa - with birds chirping in the background. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 and set to 48000hz and 24bit stereo. Rendered this clip off in the same uncompressed settings via wavepad without further editing. Virtually a raw unedited file.

This recording of a red squirrel vocalizing came out of a mass recording of sounds at a bird feeder. This was captured on a zoom h4n pro handy recorder using the built-in stereo mic configuration set to the 90-degree position. This was done on a relatives property in northern wisconsin.

Bird calls from an angry california scrub-jay that mistook my microphone set up for a snake. Proceeds to attack at the end. Suburban ambience and light traffic in the background. Recorded with a mixpre-3 and a pair of sennheiser mkh8040's in ortf configuration.
